Best Of Me Video Premiere

With less than 3 months remaining until the release of their seventh studio album Blood Money Part Zer0, New York City electro metal heads Dope are back with another music video – this one for the track “Best Of Me.” Front man Edsel Dope is an avid MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fanatic and made the sport the backdrop for the new video. The video stars Juliana “Killer” Miller – the recent winner of The Ultimate Fighter 30 – as one of the combatants in the video. The video was shot prior to Juliana’s win, which brought her an exclusive contract in the UFC. The video captures the spirit of the extreme sport as the band as the band performs their latest single around the action. The visually captivating video was directed by Edsel Dope / Co Directed by Matt Zane and can be seen here.

I’m a huge MMA fan and this song presented a great opportunity for me to create a visual piece that showcases my passion for the sport. We had such a great time filming this video and I’m so proud of Juliana for kicking so much ass in the UFC,“ explains Edsel Dope.

To coincide with the release of the new song, Dope is releasing the track listing and album cover for the upcoming album, Blood Money Part Zer0. The band has already released the songs: “Believe (Feat. No Respect Video Premiere

By Edsel Dope

No Respect Video Premiere

Just over a month after releasing their first official music video for the song “Believe” (feat. Drama Club), New York City electro metal heads Dope are back with another incredible piece of visual content - this time for their song “No Respect.” The cinematic visual for “No Respect” is a punishing piece that is reminiscent of some of the most-memorable scenes ever caught on film.

Taking pages from Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs or Eli Roth’s Hostel series, the cinematic inspired video depicts a violent interrogation taking place inside of an old garage, which ultimately ends in a fiery conclusion. The scene unfolds as the band performs the nitro-fueled song and Edsel lyrically proclaims: “You get what you deserve And in the end you’ll burn.” The teeth-excising/finger-removing villain is played by Derron Ross – acclaimed Hollywood stuntman and video game visual effects supervisor. Ross has worked on Deadpool, Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Apex Legends and Bloodshot to name a few credits. The visually captivating video was directed by Edsel Dope / Co Directed by Matt Zane and can be seen here.

It’s funny. Most people watching the video will assume that Derron is playing the role of a villain, but he’s actually playing the hero,” Says Edsel. “The guy that we set on fire was guilty of some deplorable shit. In the end, he got what he deserved.

Blood Money Part Zer0 is the band’s first release in 7 years and is the follow up to 2016’s highly successful Blood Money Part 1, which debuted at #27 on the Billboard top 200, selling over 15K units in its first week. Dope has sold more than a million combined albums and have amassed an incredible audience of nearly 2-million monthly listeners on Spotify, while racking up more than 100 million plays on their cult classic “Die MF Die.” In a move to demonstrate the bands sincere appreciation to their loyal fanbase for more than 2 decades, the band is giving away Blood Money Part Zer0 for FREE digitally. Longtime fans, curious listeners and people that enjoy gratis music can sign up to download the album for free on the band’s website. A physical pre-order will also be available on the band’s website for fans that want to purchase the new album in various physical available here.

Dope recently released an introspective infomercial, which doubled as a behind the scenes look into the real life of Edsel, his private life, and his many ventures outside of Dope. A very private person, virtually inactive on social media, Edsel is intentionally secretive about what he does with his time between records and tours. This video serves as a direct message to the fans, inviting them to see behind the curtain of the mysterious man, who’s creativity they have supported for years. In the end, the video is ultimately an introduction to Blood Money Part Zer0 and will feature teaser clips from the upcoming music videos for “Believe” and “No Respect,” but is also so much more. The introduction to Blood Money Part Zer0 video can be seen here.

Dope will be touring in 2023 in support of Blood Money Part Zer0 as part of the Rise Of The Machine Tour with Static-X and Fear Factory. The 42-date trek kicks off February 25, 2023, in San Francisco, CA and wraps up April 15, 2023, in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets for all stops on the Rise Of The Machine Tour can be found here.

Believe Music Video Premiere

By Edsel Dope

Believe Music Video Premiere

Coming on the heels of the announcement of their seventh studio album Blood Money Part Zer0 being released on February 24, 2023; New York City electro metal pioneers Dope have unveiled their first music video for the track “Believe” (feat. Drama Club). The video was directed by Edsel & Co Directed by Matt Zane. The video for “Believe” (feat. Drama Club) can be seen here.

The video stars Fivel Stewart, who is best known for her work in the acclaimed series “Atypical” and recently in the Sam Raimi produced/Sandra Oh starring horror film “Umma.” The clip co-stars Johnnie Guilbert, a solo acoustic artist who has amassed over a million followers on multiple platforms. The video follows Fivel and Johnnie on a psychedelic journey into the desert and beyond, while the band powers through their performance during a snowstorm. The energy of the song is very dark, but ultimately, it resolves to help the listener to find peace.  Edsel delivers the lyrics of: “We live and learn, die and burn, so in the end. I believe in love, cause that’s where it all begins.“

The song “Believe” was originally a demo from Edsel’s previously anonymous side project titled Drama Club, which exploded onto the scene in 2014. Drama Club toured the world with Black Veil Brides, Falling in Reverse and also appeared on the entire Warped Tour of 2015. The video for the track also features some of the final creative efforts of Amie Harwick aka Amie Nichole, who worked as both choreographer and a dancer in the video. Amie was a long-time friend of the band and tragically passed away after the filming commenced.

Ecco is skyrocketing at the moment and through this venture, Edsel has recently worked with the likes of Paul McCartney, Snoop Dog, Terry Crews, Sylvester Stallone, while also working on AAA titles such as Spiderman, Terminator Dark Fate, Love Death Robot, as well as several volumes of the EA Madden Franchise.

Dope has spent the last 25 years delivering their uncompromising message to the masses. Through their six previous studio albums, the band has never pulled punches with their music or their message. The band made a name for themselves around New York City and eventually signed with Epic Records for their debut. The sophomore album Life spawned the track “Die MF Die” which has become a staple in basic training and garnered the band a dedicated military following from that introduction. The band has also found mainstream success through their inclusion in various movie soundtracks and wrestling integrations specifically with the WWE. At a time when music trends changed, Dope continued to maintain their relevance with their audience through direct fan correspondence. This relationship garners Dope approximately 1.7 million monthly listeners, puts them in the top 1% of all streaming artists and a dedicated following that most people are unaware of to this day. As the band gets ready to launch in to the next 25 years of their career with Blood Money Part Zer0, the world needs the brutal honesty that Edsel and Dope have come to be known for.

Dope's North American Tour With Static-X And Fear Factory Rescheduled to February 2023

By Edsel Dope

Dope's North American Tour With Static-X And Fear Factory Rescheduled to February 2023

Multi-platinum selling industrial music icons Static-X are announcing the rescheduled dates of their highly anticipated Rise Of The Machine North American tour featuring Fear Factory, Dope, Mushroomhead and Twiztid. The tour, produced by Live Nation, is being rescheduled due to the current increase in the spread of COVID 19 and its continued effect on travel restrictions, public health, and fan safety. The 42-date trek will now kick off February 25, 2023, in San Francisco, CA and wrap up April 15,2023, in Los Angeles, CA. Due to overwhelming demand, four new markets have been added to the tour and the Portland OR date has been upgraded to Roseland. Fans can expect the same incredible package and night of music as previously announced. All previously sold tickets and meet and greets will be honored and more information on tickets, meet & greets and other VIP experiences for the Rise Of The Machine tour can be found right here at Dopetheband.com.

On the surface, we are incredibly disappointed to share this news with our fans. However, considering how infrequently Static-X, Fear Factory, and Dope have each toured over the last 10 years, we felt that the priority was to ensure that ALL of these 20th anniversary shows are ultimately able to play.

With all of the uncertainty around travel restrictions, the extreme rise in current cases, as well as the quarantine mandates for those who test positive, we believe that attempting to play these dates in the coming weeks would likely result in a number of last-minute cancelations and lead to a much greater level of disappointment.

The good news is that we were able to keep the entire touring lineup intact. Static-X, Fear Factory, Dope, Mushroomhead, & Twiztid will each perform in their previously scheduled cities, and due to the excitement around the tour and exceptional ticket sales, we also added four additional cities to the tour.

Further, we highly value having an up close and personal meet and greet experience with our fans. We take extreme joy in shaking hands, giving hugs, taking photos, and we look forward to doing all of this without having to socially distance, wear masks etc. We are certain that by pushing things back, these experiences will be significantly more enjoyable and memorable for all of us.

In addition, Static-X, Fear Factory, and Dope are all scheduled to complete new albums in 2022, which will lead to each band having brand new music to share with the fans, as we lead into these newly rescheduled tour dates.

As we stated previously, we are so excited to finally get back out on the road and hang out with you all.
